Here at Little Paws we offer one-to-one and group training sessions. All training is conducted by Estelle Gwynn BSc (Hons) Animal Behaviour & Welfare. On occasion, qualified assistants may also be used. We aim to harness a positive and cooperative working relationship between owner and dog while utilising positive reinforcement techniques. The use of harsh training aids, such as choke chains, will not be supported. We believe that a dog should behave because it wants to and not for fear of punishment.
One to One Appointments
These are available on Wednesdays - Saturday either at your home or alternative location. Sessions cost £30 per hour and are tailored to your specific needs. Training programmes will be designed to suit your particular requirement and can incorporate as many or as few sessions as you require. Training issues we can help with include new pet introductions, pre baby adjustments, socialisation techniques, undesirable behaviour and general obedience. It is important that your vet rules out any medical cause for the behaviour and that your pet is deemed fit to proceed with the training programme. Please Contact Us to discuss your needs and to arrange an appointment.
Classes
Obedience classes are held throughout the year with groups of up to 8 dogs per session. We currently train at 3 levels - basic, intermediate and higher with the basic class being further split into our puppies and our adults / 6 month + group. Puppy classes aim to incorporate critical socialisation and are designed with various developmental stages in mind. If you feel your dog is capable of intermediate or higher level, please book an assessment prior to enrolment. This costs £10 and is to ensure your dog is not placed into a class which is too challenging as this can be counter productive to learning. All courses run for 12 weeks and dogs who complete the requirements will then graduate to the next level.
